Mountain Mamas is seeking a Program and Grassroots Coordinator based in Western Colorado to assist in the implementation of the organization’s goals to protect our air, land, water and climate. The ideal candidate will be a strategic organizer with demonstrated experience. They should be passionate about our mission and skilled at identifying and implementing strategic member building opportunities which increase the quantity and quality of Mama voices effectively engaging in priority regions across the state. You will work closely with the Colorado State Director to ensure the Mama perspective is elevated across Colorado in decision-making spaces on conservation issues that impact our kids and families.

What You’ll Do – Educate, Engage, Recruit & Develop Activists to Influence Policy
The Program and Grassroots Coordinator will be responsible for cultivating diverse Mama voices to engage in decisions that impact conservation issues throughout Colorado with a particular focus in the San Luis Valley and western Colorado, to secure protections for our kids’ health today and to protect their future.

Cualificaciones
To be successful in this job, you will be a dedicated coordinator who is committed to building a movement for a better future, with the skills to build community and a willingness to learn. More specifically, you will have:
- 2-3 years experience in campaigns, advocacy work, or organizing local events or actions, whether through work in the community or previous jobs, paid or volunteer.
- The ability to build and maintain authentic relationships within diverse communities where you engage people about our issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for one on one conversations, public speaking, and creating outreach materials. Must have strong writing skills.
- Capable of managing multiple tasks, maintaining records, and coordinating logistics for events or actions.
- Familiarity with tools like CRMs (e.g., EveryAction, NationBuilder), spreadsheets, or project management software is a bonus.

- Strong connections to communities in the San Luis Valley highly desirable.

- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Must have reliable transportation
Spanish/English bilingual is strongly preferred for this position. The position does require some evening and weekend hours.
Compensación y beneficios:
The part-time salary range for this role is between $2,300-$2,700 per month with exact salary depending on experience. Benefits include technology stipend, flexible working hours and paid time off.

Job Description: Montana State Director
Full Time (32 hours per week): $60-70k
The Montana state director will lead our conservation and climate work in our mission of protecting our air, water, climate, and public lands for future generations. The Montana state director will be an integral part of the MM team, leading our conservation and climate advocacy and education efforts within Montana and working collaboratively with our Colorado and Arizona chapters to strategize, share information, and collectively advance the MM mission. Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Represent MM on all Montana state and federal conservation coalition calls and events deemed a priority by MM leadership
- Work with Executive Director to meet conservation and climate program work and grant deliverable goals in an innovative and engaging manner geared toward our demographic: women and parents
- Create monthly and yearly advocacy plan with input and approval from ED
- Develop & cultivate relationships with targeted audiences such as grasstops partners, organizational colleagues, and various decision makers
- Progress proactive conservation and climate legislation and other opportunities
- Create and oversee MT state budget with approval from ED
- Strategize and author opinion pieces
- Hold a minimum of four events in different geographic areas across Montana annually
- Represent MM in Montana media interviews and earned media pitches as needed
- Manage MM Montana social media, contributing 3 posts per week on both FB and IG
- Participate in MM team meetings, DEIJ training, and staff retreats
- Draft and send action alerts and newsletters 1-2 per month as needed and agreed upon with ED
- Participate in fundraising efforts as directed by Development Director & ED
- Coordinate and manage Mamas Rural program in Montana, overseeing organizers
- Cultivate successful relationships with decision makers and their staff
- Develop + execute a grassroots organizing plan to grow MM list within Montana
- Work actively to activate volunteers to move them up both the advocacy and fundraising ladder of engagement
- Other duties as assigned by the ED
- Travel an average of 1x per month in-state, and travel an average of 2x nationally
- Availability for occasional evening and weekend work
- Participate in board meetings as needed
Compensation + Benefits:
- Annual salary of $60-70k depending on experience
- All federal holidays plus 1 week between Christmas and New Years and 1 week surrounding 4El of July paid vacation, annually
- Additional 2 weeks of paid vacation
- $2,000 technology/work from home stipend, every 3 years
- Flexible, work-from-home schedule
