Nos esforzamos por dejar un mundo mejor, más saludable y más limpio para nuestros hijos y nietos con muchas tierras públicas compartidas en las que mover los dedos de los pies, pero necesitamos su ayuda para lograrlo.

Our educational, inspiring, and just plain fun activities have created a strong group of mamas to protect our kids by successfully shaping policy decisions that safeguard our families.

Our Arizona chapter is focused on positively impacting our climate in the face of rising temperatures. We organize healthcare workers who are seeing the effects of this heat first-hand, and we work towards implementing commonsense, renewable energy policies that support our local economies. Our public lands are the ties that bind all Arizona families together, and we work to protect and grow opportunities for autumn camping trips under the desert stars and neighborhood play dates at parks and trails.

Advocating for a Healthier, Cleaner Future – Together!

Healthcare workers are champions for the well-being of entire communities and our planet. Their work is deeply connected to environmental health, and they witness firsthand how issues like air pollution, extreme heat, and resource scarcity impact our families.

Mountain Mamas proudly supports our Clean Energy Health Care Ambassadors – a program supporting healthcare professionals and families to advocate for clean energy solutions. By advancing clean energy, we can improve public health outcomes across Arizona, especially in underserved communities that bear the brunt of climate-related health challenges.

Cacti in the AZ desert

In an era of accelerating climate change, healthcare professionals have a vital role in advocating for sustainable policies, environmental justice, and climate action. From fighting for clean air and water to addressing the health impacts of rising temperatures, they are essential voices in building a healthier, more resilient future.

TIERRAS PÚBLICAS

Arizonans cherish our vast open deserts, breathtaking canyons, rugged mountain ranges, and diverse wildlife. From the Sonoran Desert to the Wupatki National Monument and the sacred lands of the Ironwood Forest National Monument, family adventure is right out our back doors. As Mountain Mamas, we love sharing our favorite outdoor spaces with our kids..

Changing politics, climate change and development threaten these cherished landscapes. At the same time, not  all families have equitable access to nature and outdoor recreation. Arizona Mountain Mamas bring women and families together to protect our public lands, water, and natural areas – ensuring that future generations can explore, learn from, and love the places we hold dear.

Defend Arizona’s Public Lands – Take Action Now!

Our sacred lands, from the Grand Canyon to Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni, are under threat. These lands were protected through the Antiquities Act, a critical law that safeguards our most important cultural, historic, and natural sites. Now, these protections are at risk. Efforts to dismantle national monument designations could open our public lands to destruction and exploitation.

We cannot let this happen. Arizona’s public lands belong to all of us, and it is up to Mountain Mamas to take a stand. ¡Haz oír tu voz and demand that our leaders protect these sacred places for future generations.

AZ Public Lands Rally

What is the Antiquities Act?

The Antiquities Act of 1906 is a critical law that gives U.S. presidents the power to protect significant cultural, historic, and natural sites by designating them as national monuments. This act has been used to safeguard iconic places in Arizona like the Oak Flat, Bears Ears, and Baaj Nwaavjo I’tah Kukveni-Ancestral Footprints of the Grand Canyon National Monument, ensuring they remain preserved for future generations.

Without these protections, sacred lands and public spaces could be open to development, mining, and exploitation. Defending the Antiquities Act means defending Arizona’s heritage, Indigenous sites, and natural wonders.

We must stand up to protect these lands before it is too late. Take action today! It’s a no-brainer for Mamas, as being able to support local families AND protect our outdoor way of life are core to our mission.
